What's Covered
Platelet-rich plasma therapy takes a small sample of your own blood, concentrates the platelets to levels far above what circulates naturally, and reintroduces them into the target tissue. Platelets are dense packets of growth factors — PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, EGF, and others — that signal your cells to repair, regenerate, and produce new collagen and elastin. When delivered into the skin, this concentrated growth factor payload activates fibroblasts — the cells responsible for collagen and elastin production — stimulating a regenerative response that improves skin texture, firmness, radiance, and the appearance of fine lines from within. The result develops gradually over 4–8 weeks as new collagen is laid down, and continues to improve with each session. Because PRP is derived from your own blood, there is no foreign substance involved, minimal risk of allergic reaction, and no requirement for ongoing synthetic products.
01Step 1 — Blood draw
A small blood sample (approximately 8–10ml) is taken from your arm.
02Step 2 — Centrifugation
Your blood is processed in the Regen Lab system, producing ultra-pure platelet-rich plasma in approximately 5 minutes.
03Step 3 — Topical anaesthetic
Applied to the treatment area while your PRP is prepared.
04Step 4 — PRP injection
Your clinician injects the prepared PRP across the treatment area using a precise fine needle technique — targeting the areas most relevant to your specific concerns.
05High-Concentration HA Upgrade (+£••)
Instead of standard PRP, your treatment uses a preparation combining platelet-rich plasma with high-concentration hyaluronic acid. The HA acts as a scaffold within the tissue, providing immediate hydration and skin plumping alongside the regenerative collagen-stimulating effect. Particularly effective for skin that is both ageing and dehydrated.
06Exosome Upgrade (+£••)
Instead of standard PRP, your treatment uses exosomes — extracellular vesicles secreted by stem cells that carry growth factors, proteins, and signalling molecules between cells. An advanced regenerative signal for more intensive collagen stimulation, and particularly appropriate for clients seeking a more intensive regenerative result or whose skin has not responded as strongly to standard PRP.
Total treatment time: approximately 45–60 minutes. A course of 3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is the standard clinical recommendation.

Audience
Who It's For
PRP facial treatment is appropriate for many healthy adults looking to improve skin quality, slow visible skin ageing, or restore radiance.
- Late 20s or older and noticing early signs of skin ageing — fine lines, loss of firmness, uneven texture, or dullness
- Want a natural, regenerative approach to skin renewal that works with your own biology rather than introducing synthetic substances
- Have realistic expectations — PRP improves skin quality progressively over weeks and months rather than producing an immediate dramatic change
- Not currently pregnant, no active skin infections or inflammatory skin conditions in the treatment area, not on blood-thinning medications
- Concerned about fine lines, loss of firmness, dull or uneven skin tone, rough texture, or under-eye crepiness
- Want a foundation regenerative treatment as part of a broader skin health programme
PRP is not a substitute for volumising fillers in cases of significant volume loss, and is not appropriate for those with platelet disorders, active cancer, or certain blood conditions. Your clinician will confirm suitability at your appointment.

Deliverable
Results and What to Expect
PRP results develop progressively as new collagen matures:
- Days 1–3: Mild redness and occasional bruising at injection sites
- Weeks 2–4: Initial improvements in skin texture and radiance
- Weeks 6–8: More significant improvement in firmness and fine lines as new collagen matures
- After a course of 3 sessions: Cumulative improvement substantially greater than a single session
- Maintenance sessions every 6–12 months sustain the outcome
Because PRP is derived from your own blood, there is minimal risk of allergic reaction or immune rejection, and no requirement for ongoing synthetic products.

Difference
The Regen Lab Difference
Not all PRP is the same. The quality of the final preparation — the purity of the plasma, the concentration of platelets, the viability of the growth factors — depends entirely on the system used to produce it.
Clinically validated system
EGA uses Regen Lab (Switzerland), the system used in peer-reviewed research worldwide and widely regarded as the clinical benchmark in PRP preparation.
Ultra-pure preparation
According to the manufacturer, Regen Lab's system produces PRP with less than 1% red blood cell contamination, compared with higher levels in many other systems — reducing a source of inflammation.
2–4× platelet concentration
Regen Lab's thixotropic gel separation technology produces 2–4× normal platelet levels — a genuinely concentrated growth factor payload.
Doctor-administered
Every PRP treatment at EGA is administered by a doctor — not a delegated technician.
Upgrade pathway
Optional upgrade to High-Concentration HA or Exosome treatment (+£••) for clients wanting an advanced regenerative signal.
05
Questions
Common Questions
Is PRP safe?
Because PRP is derived entirely from your own blood, there is minimal risk of allergic reaction or immune rejection. Side effects are limited to temporary redness, swelling, and occasional bruising at injection sites.
How is Regen Lab different from other PRP systems?
According to the manufacturer, Regen Lab produces a leukocyte-poor PRP with less than 1% red blood cell contamination and a 2–4× platelet concentration. Many other systems produce a less pure preparation with higher red blood cell contamination, which reduces growth factor activity and increases post-treatment inflammation.
What is the difference between the upgrade options and standard PRP?
The upgrade replaces the standard PRP treatment entirely. The High-Concentration HA version combines PRP with hyaluronic acid for additional hydration and immediate plumping. The Exosome version uses stem cell-derived exosomes instead, delivering an advanced regenerative signal for more intensive collagen stimulation.
How many sessions do I need?
A minimum of 3 sessions is recommended, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Many clients find a course of 3 sessions followed by annual maintenance to be an effective long-term approach.
When will I see results?
Initial improvements in skin radiance and texture are typically visible within 2–4 weeks. The full benefit of a 3-session course is usually apparent 2–3 months after the final session.
Is there any downtime?
Many clients have mild redness and swelling for 24–48 hours. Avoiding intense exercise, heat, and certain skincare ingredients for 48 hours post-treatment is advised.
