Panel

What's Covered

The EGA Advanced panel analyses 80+ biomarkers across every major system that drives long-term health — with specific marker sets for female and male physiology. Includes everything in the EGA Basic Health panel, plus:

01Urinalysis

A urine analysis that complements the blood panel — assessing kidney stress, urinary tract health, early metabolic signals, glucose spillover, and infection markers that blood testing alone cannot capture.

02Advanced Lipid Profile

ApoA-I, ApoB, ApoCII, ApoCIII, ApoE, ApoB/A-I ratio, small LDL cholesterol, lipoprotein(a). Standard cholesterol tests measure four numbers. This panel measures nine — including the markers that cardiovascular specialists now consider most clinically important. Lipoprotein(a), known as Lp(a), is a genetically determined cardiovascular risk factor affecting approximately one in five people. It is not included in NHS cholesterol testing, it cannot be reduced through lifestyle alone, and most people who carry it have no idea. ApoB — now considered by many cardiologists to be a more accurate predictor of atherosclerosis than LDL — is also absent from standard testing.

03Inflammation & Methylation

hsCRP, CRP, homocysteine. Homocysteine is a by-product of protein metabolism, regulated through the methylation pathway. Elevated homocysteine is independently associated with cardiovascular disease, cognitive decline, and accelerated cellular ageing. It is almost never tested in routine care, yet it is directly modifiable through targeted B-vitamin supplementation.

04Glucose, Insulin & Metabolic Hormones

Glucose, HbA1c, insulin, C-peptide, leptin, resistin, adiponectin. Fasting insulin is one of the most important and most overlooked markers in preventive medicine. Insulin resistance can develop years before HbA1c shows any abnormality. Leptin, resistin, and adiponectin are the metabolic hormones secreted by fat tissue — they govern hunger signalling, insulin sensitivity, and systemic inflammation.

05Advanced Kidney & Renal Function

Creatinine, eGFR, cystatin C, urea, electrolytes, uric acid. Cystatin C provides a more sensitive and more reliable measure of kidney filtration than creatinine alone — particularly relevant in early-stage decline. Uric acid is now recognised as an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, and hypertension.

06Complete Thyroid Panel

TSH, fT4, fT3, Anti-Tg (anti-thyroglobulin), Anti-TPO (anti-thyroid peroxidase). Standard NHS thyroid testing measures TSH only. A normal TSH does not rule out thyroid disease. This five-marker panel includes free T4 and free T3 — the active thyroid hormones — plus the two autoimmune antibodies that indicate Hashimoto's thyroiditis, the most common cause of hypothyroidism in the UK.

07Hormone Panel — Female

Oestradiol, FSH, LH, progesterone, prolactin, testosterone, SHBG, Free Androgen Index (FAI). Tumour marker: CA 125. A complete female sex hormone panel assessing ovarian function, oestrogen and progesterone balance, androgen levels, and sex hormone binding. CA 125 is an ovarian cancer screening marker included as part of the female assessment.

08Hormone Panel — Male

Oestradiol, FSH, LH, progesterone, prolactin, testosterone, SHBG, Free Androgen Index (FAI). Tumour marker: Total PSA. Total testosterone alone is insufficient for assessing male hormonal status. SHBG and FAI together reveal how much testosterone is actually bioavailable at the cellular level. PSA is included as a prostate cancer screening marker.

02

Audience

Who It's For

The EGA Advanced panel is for people who want a genuinely thorough picture of their health — not just reassurance that they are not acutely unwell.

  • Want comprehensive insight across cardiovascular, hormonal, metabolic, and thyroid health in a single draw
  • Are experiencing changes in energy, mood, body composition, libido, sleep, or cognitive sharpness
  • Have had standard blood tests before and been told everything is 'normal' — but still feel that something is off
  • Are in perimenopause, menopause, or noticing signs of hormonal change and want a full hormonal baseline
  • Are concerned about testosterone levels, metabolic health, or cardiovascular risk and want proper assessment
  • Are proactively managing your health and want data specific enough to act on

No referral needed. No waiting list.

Deliverable

Your Report

At EGA, we provide a clinician-reviewed PDF that includes:

  • Results for all 80+ biomarkers, clearly structured by system
  • A doctor's written commentary on every marker outside optimal range
  • Plain-language explanations of clinical significance
  • Prioritised findings — so you know what to address first
  • Specific recommendations for lifestyle, nutrition, supplementation, or further investigation

This is a document produced by a medical professional who has reviewed your individual results — not a generic automated output.

04

Difference

Why EGA Goes Further

A standard NHS blood panel covers 10–15 markers and is reactive — ordered when symptoms are already present. The EGA Advanced panel covers 80+ markers, ordered proactively, with results interpreted through a longevity and optimisation lens.

Markers your GP will not test

Fasting insulin, Lp(a), ApoB, homocysteine, cystatin C, free T3, thyroid antibodies, and a full sex hormone panel are rarely or never ordered in standard GP care — yet these are precisely the markers that reveal the conditions developing silently beneath a 'normal' health check.

Faster results

NHS turnaround times for specialist panels can extend to several weeks.

Clinician-reviewed report

Not raw numbers — a structured report with written medical commentary on your individual results.

Longevity interpretation

We interpret your results against optimal ranges for long-term health, not just the reference ranges that flag acute disease.

Optional Longevity Plan

If your results reveal areas requiring targeted intervention, you can add a personalised EGA Longevity Plan addressing your specific results. Available as a separate service.

05

Questions

Common Questions

Do I need to fast before my blood test?

Yes. We recommend fasting for 10–12 hours before your appointment (water is fine). This ensures accurate readings for glucose, insulin, triglycerides, and lipid markers.

Do I need a GP referral?

No referral is required. Book directly online or by phone.

How long do results take?

Your full EGA report is delivered shortly after your blood draw. Your clinician will confirm an estimated turnaround when you book.

Why does the panel differ for men and women?

The hormone and tumour marker sections are tailored to male and female physiology. Men receive a PSA prostate cancer marker and male-specific androgen interpretation. Women receive CA 125 ovarian cancer screening and female hormone analysis including FSH, LH, and progesterone. The rest of the panel is identical.

What if my hormones come back abnormal?

Your EGA report will include your clinician's commentary on any hormonal findings and recommended next steps. If you wish to discuss a hormone optimisation pathway — including BHRT or TRT — our team can arrange a consultation.

Can I share my results with my NHS GP?

Yes. Your results are delivered as a PDF and are straightforward to share with any healthcare provider.

What happens if something significant is found?

Abnormal results are clearly highlighted with clinical commentary and recommended actions. Where findings are clinically urgent, our team will contact you directly.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is stored and processed in compliance with UK GDPR and is never shared with third parties without your explicit consent.

Can I upgrade to the EGA Flagship panel?

Yes. The EGA Flagship panel (£•••) extends the Advanced panel with additional markers covering muscle and joint health, advanced immune function, bone health, pancreatic health, allergy evaluation, digestive health, and a full fatty acid profile including Omega-3 Index.
