Strength And Movement.Objectively Measured.
A combined assessment of strength, power, stability and movement quality through standardised tests rather than subjective observation.

Panel
What's Covered
A structured testing battery covering the components of physical function that underpin both athletic performance and long-term healthspan.
01Isometric mid-thigh pull (IMTP)
A reference-standard measure of maximal lower body strength performed in a fixed position, reflecting whole-body force production capacity.
02Grip strength
An accessible but powerful biomarker. Low grip strength is independently associated with all-cause mortality and functional decline in large cohorts.
03Balance assessment
Static balance testing, relevant to falls risk and neuromuscular control across the lifespan.
04Countermovement jump (CMJ)
Reflects explosive lower body power, a measure that declines earlier and faster than strength with ageing.
05Overhead squat (OHS)
A movement-quality screen exposing restrictions in ankle, hip, thoracic and shoulder mobility and stability.
Strength and power are independent longevity biomarkers, not only performance metrics.

Audience
Who It's For
Suitable for adults across the spectrum from sedentary to athletic.
- Wanting an objective baseline before starting a structured training programme
- Returning to training after a break and assessing current capacity
- Athletes or active adults wanting standardised testing for programming
- Pursuing a longevity strategy and tracking strength, power and balance over time
- Concerned about strength or balance changes with ageing
03
Deliverable
What You Leave With
Objective data across each domain and actionable training context.
- Quantified results across all five testing components
- Reference percentiles for age and sex where available
- Identification of relative strengths and limiting factors
- Written report and recommendations for training direction
04
Difference
Why Structured Testing
Subjective assessment misses meaningful change. Standardised testing detects it.
Objective baseline
A reproducible reference against which training adaptations can be tracked.
Targeted programming
Test results inform whether to prioritise strength, power, mobility or balance work.
Longevity relevance
Several of the metrics are independent predictors of long-term function and mortality risk.

Questions
Common Questions
Is the assessment physically demanding?
Yes, but at a level appropriate to your background. Attend rested, hydrated and ready to give meaningful effort.
Do I need to be already training?
No. The assessment is suitable across the spectrum from sedentary to athletic. Results contextualise your starting point.
How often should I retest?
Every 12 to 16 weeks during active training, or 6 to 12 monthly as a longevity baseline.
Is this included in any packages?
Yes, it is included in the Complete Human Performance Assessment Package (£•••) alongside RMR and VO₂ Max.
